Non-advertising sales increased 22% YoY

Twitter’s (TWTR) non-advertising revenues primarily originate from data licensing. In 3Q17, the company recorded a third consecutive quarter of year-over-year (or YoY) growth acceleration in its non-advertising business (XLK).

Twitter reported non-advertising revenues of $87.0 million in 3Q17, up 22.0% YoY. The company’s non-advertising business contributed 14.7% of Twitter’s total revenues in the latest quarter.

In 2Q17, Twitter reported non-advertising revenues of $85.0 million, up 26.0% YoY. About 14.8% of the company’s total revenues in the quarter came from its advertising business.

In 3Q16, Twitter generated non-advertising revenues of $71.0 million, up 26.0% YoY. The non-advertising business contributed 11.5% of Twitter’s total revenues in that quarter.
