A class action lawsuit accusing Dotdash Meredith of sharing consumers’ video activity with Facebook without consent was voluntarily withdrawn on Wednesday.
The plaintiff, Abby Casper, agreed to dismiss all claims without prejudice.
Casper filed the suit, alleging that her video-watching and personally identifiable information were shared with Facebook “through its use of the Facebook tracking pixel and similar technologies.”
While the withdrawal of the lawsuit against Dotdash Meredith may close a legal chapter, it doesn't erase a growing concern among conservatives—corporate media’s casual handling of consumer data. Americans are increasingly weary of platforms that profit from our personal information while cozying up to federal regulators behind closed doors. This case reminds us that in today’s media landscape, trust is easily lost and rarely regained. True accountability doesn’t come from lawsuits alone—it comes from a marketplace that values privacy, transparency, and consumer choice. Conservatives should continue pushing for reforms that limit data abuse and resist the growing alliance between Big Tech, Big Media, and Big Government.~Political Media
